The 18th AUG Games Village is at NTU Halls of Residence 3, 12, 13 & 16 which are in close proximity to each other. These 4 Halls were used by the 1st Youth Olympic Games (YOG) held in Singapore in 2010 when NTU was also the Games Village. All the rooms are air-conditioned and secured with electronic access control. They are the legacy of YOG. Shared facilities include toilets, shower facilities, pantries with hot-cold water dispensers and self-service washers and dryers. The Games Village is located just a stone throw away from the Games dining area which is an extremely important venue to satisfy their hungry pangs and for their body’s nourishment.
The Dining Hall of the 18th AUG Games 2016 is located at the canteen of the National Institute of Education (NIE). The canteen has a seating capacity of more than 1,500 spread over 2 levels and it served as the dining venue for the 1st YOG 2010. The canteen’s close proximity to greenery and well-ventilated environment, provides a cool and relaxed dining experience to the athletes and guests. The canteen is situated only a 5-minute stroll away from the Games Village at NTU Hall of Residences 3, 12, 13 and 16.
Besides the 3 main meals provided at the Games Village Dining Hall, participants also have easy access to a galore of food at the numerous eateries within the NTU campus. The selection ranges from the traditional food court/hawker centre fare like Yong Tau Foo, Mee Rebus, to fast food like McDonald’s and Subway, to fine dining at the Peach Garden Restaurant, located at the university North Spine which is within walking distance from the Games Village.
